Hyderabad: One held for harassment using selfies

HYDERABAD: A 27-year-old mobile store operator, who was allegedly harassing an engineering student by posting her photos online, has been arrested. Moksh Jain had developed a friendship with the girl after receiving a missed call from her phone a few months ago.
Jain, a native of Rajasthan, was working at a mobile phone repair store run by his brother at Jagdeesh market in Abids. Two months ago, after tracing a missed call back to the student, Jain and the girl started meeting often and he started taking selfies of himself with her in them.
A few days ago, he proposed marriage and the girl refused. An angry Jain then started threatening the victim, saying he would upload all the photos of her and him, on social media.
“The victim continued to talk to him, as a friend but Jain continued to pester her. He then uploaded all the photos on several platforms.” Rachakonda police commissioner, Mahesh Bhagwat, said.
