Stone set to Vysakhi Kala Taringini, convention halls in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: Ministers Ganta Srinivas Rao and Ch Ayyanapatrudu on Friday set foundation stone for Hyderabad’s Ravindra Bharathi kind auditorium, Vysakhi Kala Tarangini at MVP Colony. Vuda is developing the auditorium at a cost of Rs 32.5 crore and the construction is expected to be completed within 18 months from now.
Talking to reporters after setting the foundation stone, HRD minister Ganta Srinivas Rao had said that Vysakhi Kala Tarangini will be the best among any other such facilities in the country.
He added that utmost care has been taken without giving any scope for any kind of criticism, the plan for the Kal Tarangini has been prepared.
Mr Rao said that, Vuda children arena will be inaugurated on November 14 on the occasion of Children’s Day. He added that trial run of the musical fountain at Vuda central park will be held on Monday.
Panchayatraj minister Ch. Ayyanapatrudu lamented that Vizag lacks a good facility to host mega cultural events due to which government had to spend huge money on private hotels. He added that there is a need to construct such facilities like Vysakhi Kala Tarangini.
Vuda vice-chairman G. Babu Rao Naidu said that Vysakhi Kala Tarangini will come up in an extent of 1.49 acres adjacent to Rythu Bazar in MVP Colony. It will have three convention halls, mini amphi theatre, mini outdoor theatre and shopping arena. Facility is also being created to park about 100 cars and 200 two wheelers.
