Archakas do not want retirement

Hyderabad: The Telangana Archaka Samakhya asked the government to implement the Special Service Rules GO 76 of the AP government, which has been accepted by the Telangana state Cabinet sub-committee. The GO will solve many problems of hereditary archakas.

Mr C.R. Rangarajan, a hereditary archaka at the Chilkur Balaji temple, said, “We do not want any retirement age. We were born and brought up for the service of God and the government cannot decide when we should stop. With the retirement age we will not be allowed to serve God after a certain age.”
