Malakpet flyover gets a swanky makeover
The kettle is 18 feet in height and the three cups five feet.
Hyderabad: The Malakpet flyover, which witnesses heavy traffic, has got a swanky new look with a water cascade and vertical garden. The water cascade and tea kettle fountain under the flyover come as a pleasant change from the unclaimed garbage.
While the median of the flyover is being decorated with the shade of love plant saplings and bubble stones, the pillars were decorated with vertical gardens. The flyover now got landscaping, fencing, a fresh coat of paint, exclusive pathway for walkers and colourful illumination. The GHMC took up the job at a cost of Rs 35 lakh.
GHMC came up with the theme ‘Tea kettle with cups’ to depict Hyderabad culture, an urban diversity officer said. The Rs 3.77-lakh theme-based fountain and garden sit on 800 sq. ft space under the flyover. The kettle is 18 feet in height and the three cups five feet.
