Blood group information can save lives

Hyderabad: Mr Dayashankar was travelling from Hyderabad to Nalgonda when one of the tyres of his two-wheeler burst and he fell far away from the vehicle and sustained severe injuries. As he met with the accident near the Choutuppal checkpost, there was an auto stand nearby, and they took the unconscious victim to the hospital. 

Doctors said the patient lost a lot of blood, but no one had a clue about his blood type. They checked his driving licence, but the information was not there. The doctors had to do blood tests and verify and then proceed.
