Hyderabad: Twenty-three people, including 10 history-sheeters, were detained by the Cyberabad police during the cordon and search operations at Rajendranagar and Sanathnagar late on Monday. The police also seized 67 vehicles, including 57 bikes during the operation.
At Chintalmet under Rajendranagar police station limits, 190 policemen headed by Shamshabad DCP N. Prakash Reddy cordoned the residential areas and searched the houses. During the searches conducted from 9 pm to 12 midnight the police took 10 history-sheeters into custody and checked their current activities.
Ten suspects who were found to have contacts with previous offenders were also taken into custody after zeroing in on them through the C-DAT application. The police also seized 30 bikes, one car and four autos from the claimants for failing to produce relevant documents for the vehicles.
The C-DAT application gives huge data of criminals who are in the police records, their accomplices and other information, enabling the police to identify the suspects based on a mobile number, fingerprints and other sources of information.
Mr Prakash Reddy said that the public has extended their cooperation while conducting the operation to trace criminals and provide a safer environment.
In Sanathnagar limits, Balanagar DCP P. V. Padmaja, along with 124 police personnel, searched the houses in the IG Puram area and seized 27 bikes, four autos and one car besides taking three suspects into custody.
