New Delhi: Six Pakistani diplomats from the Pakistani High Commission— including the four whose names were flashed on Indian TV channels last week as alleged ISI handlers — on Wednesday flew back to Pakistan, even as Pakistani TV channels on Wednesday  started flashing the names of as many as eight Indian diplomats and accused them of carrying out subversive activities.

This means India will have to recall these eight diplomats soon. The Indian Government is apparently furious that one of the security agencies recklessly leaked the names of the four Pakistani diplomats  last week to TV channels. There is also a strong possibility that heads may roll in the particular security agency for the lapse.

The latest episode has come as another setback to Indo-Pak ties, even as India on Wednesday summoned the deputy high commissioner of Pakistan Syed Haider Shah to the ministry of external affairs and lodged a strong protest against the unprovoked border firing by Pakistan as well as the recent mutilation of the body of an Indian soldier by a terrorist near the LoC.
