Karnataka: Rant on social media, police suspended
Prime Minister offered pooja by wearing traditional dress and fasting from morning.
Mangaluru: A constable attached to Belthangady police station, who had allegedly shared derogatory messages about Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has been suspended. Belthangady Constituency Youth Congress leaders had complained that the constable Rajashivappa Benne had posted derogatory statements against the Chief Minister in Facebook. One of the post names Siddaramaiah as 'Siddhu Khan’, and another post compares him with Narendra Modi.
Post like 'Nodi namma Siddu Khan Heltare Sarvarigu Samapalu Sarvarigu Samapalu..... 'Mailariyannu Kandu sidukida Mukha,' 'Mullah nannau kandu aralida mukha,' (Angry face by looking the face of Mailari and happy face after looking the face of Mullah).
The posts also compared Siddaramaiah and Modi. The post stated that “Chief Minister visited Dharmasthala, the place of worship respected by crores of people, after having non vegetarian food. Prime Minister offered pooja by wearing traditional dress and fasting from morning.” Youth Congress had raised objection against these posts and raised the issue with senior police officials.Following this the constable has been suspended and departmental inquiry has been initiated.
