Lift curbs on gold: P Pulla Rao
Already the public are facing hardships, gold restrictions are further increasing the difficulties.
GUNTUR: Minister for Agriculture, P. Pulla Rao addressing a press meet at Guntur on Friday lamented that already the public are facing hardships due to demonetisation of currency notes and now gold restrictions further increasing the difficulties. Mr Pulla Rao termed the decision of restrictions on gold as “throwing stone on a beehive” thereby disturbing the lives of the public.
Admitting the opposition among the public against restrictions on gold, he demanded that the BJP government reconsider the decision honouring public opinion. He claimed that YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has lost mental balance due to demonetisation of currency notes and hence levelling baseless allegations against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and termed Jagan as a big “hurdle” for AP development.
Mentioning about YSRC legislators quitting the party, Mr Pulla Rao predicted that the remaining MLAs will also leave the YSRC at any time and this would force Jagan to sit behind trees telling astrology with parrots. He alleged that Jagan is provoking the farmers against land pooling for Bandar port and trying to defame the TD government which is working for the welfare of public and development of AP.
The minister announced the government decided to register criminal cases against spurious chilli powder and seed manufacturers and he said it would send the violators to the jails. He claimed that Mr Chandrababu Naidu is arduously working to resolve currency crisis and hoped that the currency difficulties would end in a few days.
