Mr Rajeswara Reddy said Prof. Kodandaram was taking the support of the Congress which had not taken any steps to fill the vacancies.

Hyderabad: TRS leaders including Government Whip Palla Rajeswara Reddy and Peddapalli MP Balka Suman on Saturday ridiculed TJAC chairman Kodandaram-sponsored Koluvula Kotlata (Fight for Jobs) on December 4, dubbing it koluvula kai kotlata (fight for getting jobs for themselves), as many politically unemployed leaders going to take part in it.

Addressing mediapersons, TRS leaders said since the issue of recruitment of jobs undertaken by the government has been discussed in the just concluded Assembly session and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had himself assured filling up of all vacancies jobs before the 2019 elections, there was no meaning in Prof. Kodandaram seeking the same assurance again.

They said out of the little over one lakh jobs in the government, 27,000 had been filled. Job notifications for the rest have been issued, and the process is on, Mr Rajeswara Reddy said. He said the government had taken steps to improve the rural economy and lakhs of jobs were provided in the private sector. He said it was surprising that Prof. Kodandaram took support of the BJP; the party is in power at the Centre and had promised one crore jobs which had not been implemented till now.

Mr Rajeswara Reddy said Prof. Kodandaram was taking the support of the Congress which had not taken any steps to fill the vacancies. Mr Balka Suman said Prof. Kodandaram’s meeting on December 4 was meant for “politically unemployed leaders” in the Congress, BJP, Left parties and the TD who had been voted out by the people.
