Hyderabad: 4 arrested for stealing diesel from pvt buses

Hyderabad: Four persons who were stealing diesel from private buses were arrested by the Rachakonda police on Sunday.

On November 28, at Ibrahimpatnam, two private buses which were running on a hire basis at the Cantonment depot were parked near Scient College in Khanapur village.
The next morning, the drivers noticed the locks of their fuel tanks were broken and about 150 litres of diesel was stolen from each bus.
The diesel was worth Rs 24,000, said the police.
A case was registered by the police based on the complaint by bus owner K. Buchi Reddy and four persons — Shaik Iqbal, 25, Shaik Jaffar, 25, Syed Ahmed, 22, and Shaik Abrar, 28, all residents of Pahadishareef were apprehended. The accused have committed five such thefts in Hayathnagar, two in Ibrahimpatnam and one in Vanasthalipuram.
The Rachakonda police on Sunday arrested the four accused and recovered '80,000 cash, a car, one autorickshaw, 30 plastic water cans and two iron rods used to steal the diesel, from the accused.
