VHP's temple run hits Bengaluru
Vishwa Hindu Parishad's rally asks Centre to pass ordinance for building Ram Mandir
Bengaluru: Raising the pitch for the speedy construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Sunday held its ‘Janagraha’ convention here to press for promulgation of an ordinance by the Central government to pave way for construction of the temple.
The demand comes ahead of the anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition at Ayodhya on December 6. The Winter session of Parliament will start on December 11.
Addressing the convention, VHP National General Secretary Milind Parande claimed that Hindus were losing patience over the ‘inordinate delay’ in disposal of the Ayodhya land dispute case pending in the Supreme Court.
"Hindus have waited for centuries for the building of Ram temple but the court has postponed the case. We respect the institution, but that does not mean we can eternally wait for justice. The majority community is losing patience," he said while urging the BJP led NDA government to bring an ordinance to allow construction of the temple.
Mounting a veiled attack on the Supreme Court comment that Ram Mandir was not its priority, Mr Parande said that this had come as a shock for Hindus. “I feel there no value for the sentiments of Hindus on this issue,'' he said.
Stating that the ‘anti-Hindu’ Babar had demolished the Ram temple and constructed a mosque in its place, he said that there was no need for a court seal to reconstruct the Mandir. There was a conspiracy by some individuals against the move to build Ram Mandir, he said asserting that VHP will not allow construction of even a single mosque in Ayodhya municipality limits.
The massive rally was attended by seers including Swami Akhileshwarananda of Jabalpur and Karnataka BJP leaders. Pejawar seer Sri Viveshwar Thirtha Swamiji and Sri Adichunchanagiri Vijayanagar branch head Sri Soumyanathananda too urged the Centre to bring an ordinance for constructing Ram Mandir.
