Hyderabad: Now, shell out more for RTC bus travel, pay minimum Rs 10
The corporation has hiked bus fares following the government\'s decision to increase 20 paise per km towards which it issued orders on Monday.
Hyderabad: If anyone is breathing easy that bus services have been regularised and things are back to normal with Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) then better be prepared to shell down more on travel costs, hereafter.
The corporation has hiked bus fares following the government's decision to increase 20 paise per km towards which it issued orders on Monday. The revised fares would come into effect from Tuesday midnight.
Following the November 28 Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao informed that the increase in the bus fares would fetch profits for the Road Transport Corporation.
The buses departing from all depots after 12 am will charge the revised fares. The minimum fare in ordinary buses in Hyderabad has been doubled to Rs 10 from the existing Rs 5, while it has been enhanced to Rs 15 on Metro Deluxe services.
The minimum fare in Palle Velugu and semi-express buses is Rs 10 while there is to be Rs 5 increase on all Express services with the minimum fare being Rs 15.
The minimum fare for deluxe services will be Rs 20 and Rs 25 on Super Deluxe services.
It will be Rs 35 for Rajdhani, Vajra, Garuda, and Garuda Plus AC services and the minimum fare on AC sleeper services has been increased to Rs 70.
The student’s monthly bus pass, which cost Rs 130, has been increased to Rs 165 in Hyderabad limits while the quarterly passes for students will now cost Rs .490 from the existing Rs 390.
The monthly ordinary pass for general commuters and government employees has also been increased from Rs 770 to Rs 950.
The Metro Express services pass has also been increased to Rs 1,070 from the previous Rs 880, and for the Metro Deluxe services, the fare of the monthly pass has been revised to Rs 1,185 from Rs 990.
