TIRUPATI: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has promised to provide jobs on outsourcing basis and loans to educated youth, who lost their shelter, livelihoods and family members in the devastation caused by the incessant rains and flash floods in Kadapa district.
The Chief Minister on Thursday met people of some flood-affected villages in Kadapa and Chittoor districts and reassured them of timely relief and shelter.
He along with district collector V. Vijaya Rama Raju, deputy Chief Minister S.B. Amzath Basha, district-incharge minister A. Suresh, MP P.V. Mithun Reddy and a host of MLAs visited Pulapatturu, Mandapalli and Eguva Mandapalli villages in Rajampet mandal.
The Chief Minister saw the devastation caused by the flash floods including the collapsed houses. He consoled the family of priest Korrapati Ramamurthy at Eguva Mandapalli, who lost nine members in their family and the family of Mannuru Eswaraiah, who lost two members in their family in the deluge.
The Chief Minister later heard out their grievances and enquired if the relief measures taken up by the state government have reached them on time or delayed.
While addressing the people, the Chief Minister reassured the flood victims that they will be compensated for their losses and promised to provide a constructed house on nearly 250 square yards of land for all those victims whose houses were washed away in the deluge.
He said the compensation was given to 98 per cent of the people and those who missed, can complain in the village secretariat and get it.
He said employment would be provided to everyone through MGNREGS works as there won’t be agriculture works due to the breach of two projects.
