Hyderabad: IAS officer's exit puts land at risk
Mr Reddy had allegedly grabbed 2,000 square yards of land ostensibly for development of a temple.
Hyderabad: By moving out Jangoan collector A. Sri Devasena in the latest shuffle of IAS officers, the state government has put some six acres of lake land in Jangoan at risk.
The rift between the collector and local MLA Mutti Reddy Yadagiri Reddy is known to the Chief Minister, as the collector wrote and told him the MLA was trying to grab lake land and develop it.
Mr Reddy had allegedly grabbed 2,000 square yards of land ostensibly for development of a temple. He owns a parcel of land close to the lake.
He wanted to build an office, guest house and a Haritha hotel, which is in clear violation of Supreme Court orders. The collector had exposed this.
The clash between the collector and MLA unfolded when IAS officers were called by the Chief Secretary to share their grievances.
Ms Devasena in writing informed, TRS Jangoan leader used filthy language against the collector, joint collector, and district revenue officer, all women, at an official meeting.
The cold war reached flash point when the collector cancelled registration of half an acre of the encroached lakefront that was meant for Bathukamma Kunta in Jangaon town, registered by the MLA.
