GUNTUR: The AP Centre for Economic and Social Studies (APCESS) would start functioning from Acharya Nagarjuna University.

The APCESS would conduct study/research on the implementation of schemes/projects and will give suggestions to the government. The team of APCESS visited the ANU and inspected the available buildings to start its centre. Earlier, APCESS used to function from the Osmania University but after the state bifurcation, AP government decided to shift it to AP and further to the ANU.

Financial expert, Prof. R. Radhakrishna was appointed as the chairman of APCESS. Mr Radhakrishna and other officials inspected the available buildings in the ANU and further interacted with ANU Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. Rajendra Prasad and others. Mr Radhakrishna said that extra research seats would come to the ANU with the starting of APCESS and added that this would give chances to students to conduct research about schemes and projects.

He said that APCESS will not confine for the research projects and schemes but will conduct research about prices in the market and agriculture farming and production. Mr Radhakrishna said their centre would start functioning after getting permission from the government.
