Train tickets to cost more at Mee Seva from today

Hitherto railways have been offering 2 per cent commission to the Mee Seva Centres on net earnings.

Nellore: Railway passengers buying reservation tickets at Mee Seva Centres run by the state government ha-ve to pay service charges between '10 to '30 depending on the class they are travelling starting from February 4.

As per revised policy for provision of Passenger Reservation System facility at a location, Indian railways shall not give commission to state government for manning of Non Rail Head Passenger Reservation System by other than Railway staff.

As per a communication from railways, the Service (PRS) charges have to be realised by state government from the customers.  Such service charge shall be same as allowed to postal authorities for PRSs in Post Offices (at AK Nagar Post Office in Nellore and Vidyanagar Post Office at Kota in Nellore district).

Service charges (inclusive of service tax) per ticket will be realised by e-Seva Centre, Sodhan Nagar, Nellore in lieu of issue of PRS tickets from February 4.

The services charges for II class sleeper and II cl-ass sitting (2S) Rs 15, III AC and AC Chair Car        Rs 20, IIAC, IAC and IClass  Rs 30 and   cancellation for all classes Rs 10.
