Chennai: The Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) has informed the Madras high court to that the council has revoked the suspension order issued against actor Vishal.

The council has informed this when a petition challenging order of a single judge came up for hearing before the first bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice M. Sundar on Friday. The council has stated that a meeting of executive committee of the council was held on February 2 and the suspension of Vishal revoked.

Vishal was suspended by the council on November 14, 2016, for his interview following an interview with him in a private TV channel criticizing the council’s inaction over piracy.

Later, the actor filed a civil suit before the Madras high court challenging the suspension. As a single judge recently had decided against Vishal, he challenged the order stating that the single judge erred in making observations on the merits of the suit and passed an order without hearing him.

When the matter came up before the first Bench on Friday, the counsel for the council  produced a copy of the resolution passed by the executive committee and suspension was revoked on the basis of the letter of apology submitted by actor Vishal. Recording this, the bench said that the appeal has become in fructuous and dismissed the appeal.
