Although no reason has been officially given for the expulsion of Chinnasamy from the key post, sources claimed that the action has been taken due to the recent strike by transport employees.
It is said that the AIADMK high command is not happy with certain acts of Chinnasamy during the strike. Both OPS and EPS have been expelling several office-bearers from the party, for violating rules and regulations, since they merged their respective factions.
