Defamation case: Revanth Reddy appears in court
The court adjourned the hearing to March 31.
Hyderabad: Telangana TDP MLA A. Revanth Reddy, who is the main accused in the cash-for-vote scam, appeared before the XVIII Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on Friday in connection with a defamation case against him filed by My Home Group Chairman Jupally Rameshwar Rao. The court adjourned the hearing to March 31.
Meanwhile, on Friday the magistrate expressed his displeasure by saying not to waste the court’s time by filing cases for political gains. The magistrate made this comment when Mr Rameshwar Rao requested the magistrate for time so that he can record his statement after his counsel arrived.
Mr Rameshwar Rao had slapped a '90 crore defamation suit against Mr Revanth in 2014 for levelling serious allegations against him and the government. Mr Rao alleged that Mr Revanth’s allegations were baseless. He said the MLA had been accusing KCR of favouring the builder in securing land that was allotted to Metro Rail and the Gaming City project allotted to DLF.
