Bengaluru: Techie files harassment case against businessman
Under the pretext of recovering his dues, Balaji started visiting her house and physically harassing her.
Bengaluru: A 29-year-old software engineer has filed a complaint with Hulimavu police against a 36-year-old businessman accusing him of raping and blackmailing her.
The complainant on Friday approached the DCP South East and requested the police to take immediate action as the Hulimavu police, who had taken up the case, have failed to take any action against the accused. When she approached the Hulimavu police they made her visit the station and wait for hours. The FIR was filed after four days.
In her police complaint, she stated that the accused, Balaji L., a resident of Hulimavu, had in December, 2016, invested around Rs 1 lakh in a company owned by her brother.
The company the incurred losses and Balaji was not paid dues on time. He started harassing her brother and abducted him a few times and demanded return of his invested money with interest.
She had to intervene and pay some money for her brother's release. Under the pretext of recovering his dues, Balaji started visiting her house and physically harassing her.
She stated that the accused raped her, took photos and videos, and started demanding sexual favours and threatened to expose them to the public.
Fed up with his harassment, she filed a complaint with the Hulimavu police and after no action was taken she on Friday filed a complaint with the DCP.
The Hulimavu police have taken up a case and are on the lookout for the absconding accused.
