Malappuram: A young man confined at a black magic centre at Manjeri has died due to the crude and brutal treatment methods followed by quacks who manage the centre, his friends say.
According to a voice clip the victim Kolappatta Firoz Ali, 38, of Pathutharappadi sent to his friend Shibu before his death last week, the quacks confined him for more than 25 days without giving even sufficient food and tortured brutally.
“I am not allowed to interact with outsiders, and even denied Ayurvedic medicine,” says Ali in the clip.
He identified those who run the centre as Charaniyil Firoz and Abdul Salam who had taken huge sums of money from his relatives assuring to cure him of "the spell of a soul of a Hindu priest" by eliminating it. Though he made several attempts to escape, goons guarding the centre stopped
"They called me Shaitan (Satan), claiming that I am a ghost migrated to a human body," he says, urging all to alert people as well as authorities on the existence of such centres and crude treatment methods of the quacks to save others. However, Manjeri police said that they are yet to receive any complaint.
