25 hookah centres raided in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Police raided 25 hookah centres in Hyderabad after a tip- off that minors were entering these establishments despite bans.  The police booked cases against hookah centers in Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Ameerpet and Punjagutta for allowing minors and operating beyond time limits.

Banjara Hills inspector Murali Krishna said four hookah centres had allowed minors in. “As per rules they have to display notices warning that minors are not allowed and hookah is harmful. They did not do so,” the inspector said.
Senior officials said they are also examining the substances used in hookahs.
