Bharat Bandh: Mob attacks MLA's house in Rajasthan

Jaipur: Violence from Monday’s ‘Bharat Bandh’ called by Dalit organisations against Supreme Court's decision diluting the SC/ST act spilled over on Tuesday with Dalit houses and establishments coming under attack.
Curfew was imposed in Hindaun in Karauli district after a mob attacked and torched homes of BJP MLA Rajkumari Jatav and Congress leader and former MLA Bharosi Lal Jatav. A hostel of Dalit students was attacked and a commercial building was burnt.

The police tried to disperse the mob but it turned violent forcing the police to fire tear gas shells and rubber bullets. Two dozen students said to have been treated for injuries sustained from tear gas shells and stampede after teargas shells landed in a government school.
“People from non-reserved categories gathered in the morning defying prohibitory orders,” said Alok Vashishtha, IG, Bharatpur range. “The police had to use force to control the situation after they pelted stones on the police.” A mob of some 15-20,000 people later reached the houses of the leaders and pelted stones.
