Hyderabad: The Speaker adjourned the proceedings of the Lok Sabha for the 19th consecutive day, on Tuesday.

There was pandemonium in the House as AIADMK MPs continued their protest. No business was conducted; a no-confidence motion was not moved.

AIADMK MPs walked into the well of the House bearing placards demanding the establishment of a Cauvery Water Management Board. Within four minutes Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the proceedings of the House until noon.

Before the House reassembled at noon, the AIADMK MPs gathered in the well of the House and began chanting slogans.

The Speaker appealed to them and asked them to return to their seats saying that she could not take up notices or the no-confidence motion unless the House was in order.

Members of the ruling party as well as members of the Opposition said that they wanted to discuss the no-confidence motion. Union minister Anantha Kumar alleged that the Congress was trying to stall democratic proceedings, which was unacceptable.

As the chaos continued, the Speaker was forced to adjourned proceedings for the day stating that the House is not in order.
