Bengaluru: Voter slips to be distributed from tomorrow

Bengaluru: For the elections scheduled to be held on April 18, voter slips with photos of voters will be distributed to their houses by BBMP workers, said BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad, who is the district election officer, here on Wednesday.

The distribution will start from April 5, and end on April 11, he said. Along with voter slips, each house will be given a 'voter guide', with gives details of polling booths. Over 8,500 workers have been deputed for the purpose, he said.

Bengaluru has 90,83,554 eligible voters, of which 47,33,562 are male and 43,48,452 are female, while 1,450 are third gender voters.

From Bangalore North 31 candidates, Bangalore South 25 candidates and Bangalore Central 22 candidates are contesting the elections, Mr Manjunath said.

He said that any irregularities should be brought to the notice of Election Commission officials on the “c-vigil” app.
