The board has ordered the closure of two bulk drugs factories for illegally dumping effluent through tankers.
Hyderabad: A tanker loaded with industrial effluent, which was driven suspiciously at Kompally, was detained by Telangana Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) officials during patrolling in the wee hours of Wednesday.

TSPCB is investigating the issue to identify the owner and try to determine the source of effluents and will order closure of the factories for dumping of chemical waste.
In another incident, a tanker was found to have discharged industrial effluents at Shree Dharma Kanta, near RK venture in Satamrai village.
An investigation revealed that the driver has followed the instructions of his employer and had loaded the effluents from a bulk drugs factory at Shadnagar, Ranga Reddy, and unloaded at Samarai village.
The driver later revealed that he had, three months back, also dumped chemical wastage from another bulk drug manufacturing factory based in Nawabpet, Shivampet, in Medak district at RK venture.
