Stale food seized in raids ahead of Pooram

Thrissur: Corporation public health officials on Friday conducted massive raids at hotels and seized stale food. The raids were conducted in the run-up to Thrissur Pooram on May 13.
Corporation and district administration had earlier issued orders to the hotels and eateries asking them to serve fresh food in view of Pooram.
Supervisor, public health wing, K. C. Madhavan said hotels at Swaraj Round in the heart of the city, East Fort, and those near KSRTC, Sakthan and North Bus Stand were raided on Friday.
Zaatar Wa Zaitoon, Hotel Almonds, Pappaya Hotel, Hotel Arun, Mint Palace, Chinese Restaurant, Jaya Restaurant, Jaya Palace, Chettinad Hotel, KSRTC canteen, Noorjahan Hotel, Aramana Restaurant, Garuda Express Hotel, Hotel The Mist, Hotel Park House, Modern Hotel, Hotel Hero, Manadiyar Hotel, Bismillah Tea Star and Jes Kitchen Thrissur were caught during the raids, an official release said.
