Amaravati logo to be out today

The officials informed that for every entry there was an explanation of the logo.

Larsen & Toubro and Shapoorji Pallonji, who were awarded the contract for the work, have threatened to stall progress if their bills were not paid immediately, according to AP Capital Region Development Authority commissioner N. Srikanth, in a report to the state government.

Vijayawada: The CRDA officials are going to finalise the Amaravati Logo, most probably on Saturday. The logo was supposed to be finalised in October 2015 itself as per the schedule.

But, the officials at the CRDA claimed that it wsas delayed as 2,452 entries  of Amaravati logo designs were received through online and another 33 entries by post from artists and enthusiastic persons in the state and even NRIs also participated in this contest.

The CRDA invited proposals from various members to select the best logo before the Amaravati bhoomipuja ceremony. After getting all the proposals from the artists, the CRDA remained silent over the competition.

At last, the CRDA officials opened the file and initiated finalising the best suitable and representing logo for Amaravati. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is  likely to announce the prizes for top three entries of Amaravati logo on Suturday or any other day.

The CRDA officials formed a committee under the chairmanship of V. Rama Manohara Rao, addistional commissioner (FAC), APCRDA, for evaluation of the logo designs. The CRDA officials informed that to evaluate the best logo, the committee took a long time as there were about 2,500 entries. The officials informed that for every entry there was an explanation of the logo.
