Udumalpet: Video showing official taking money goes viral

UDUMALPET: A 33- second video clipping of a lady sub-registrar in Udumalpet receiving money from a document writer has gone viral across Tamil Nadu. The video footage, which is also being circulated on What’sApp, has become a big talking point among the government employees.
The video clip shows the Udumalpet sub-registrar 53-year-old Vasundhra Devi receiving money from a document writer. However, the sub-registrar has claimed that that she had only received collections for the ‘Flag Day’ and not taken bribe.
In the video clip, the sub-registrar is shown talking to a document writer standing on her left side even while making some notings in the documents kept in front of her in the table. As the video went viral on What’sApp and social media, the Tirupur registrar Saminathan conducted a three-hour intensive probe at the Udumalpet sub-registrar office on Friday. He inquired the sub-registrar and the document writers at Udumalpet. During the inquiry, Vasundhra Devi, however, denied that she received bribe. She claimed that she had only received the Flag Day donation and not bribe.
