KCR kits have 15 essentials for newborns, moms
He gave the kits to six women who recently delivered babies at the hospital.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday launched ‘KCR Kits’ scheme at Petlaburj Maternity Hospital in the Old city.
He gave the kits to six women who recently delivered babies at the hospital. The kits have 15 essential items required for a mother and her newborn, besides providing financial assistance of Rs 12,000. The Chief Minister also launched a website.
“We are doing service to humanity. But sometimes media reports negative news about government hospitals, particularly regarding non-availability of beds. This hospital has 462 beds but the deamnd is for over 700, which is a proof of its good work," he said. “Due to shortage of beds and increase in demand, this hospital is struggling to cater to the needs of all. One should thank the doctors for allowing extra patients,” he said.
If needed, one more block would be constructed here in the same premises, said the Chief Minister.
