Chennai: School keeps kids out over unpaid fees
Following which at around 8 am on Monday, the parents blocked the Chengalpattu-Kancheepuram main road and demanded justice.
Chennai: With the new academic year in schools beginning on Monday, hundreds of parents of a private school in Kancheepuram staged a protest on Chengalpattu-Kancheepuram high road as a private school in Kancheepuram refused to allow students who did not pay the yearly fees.
The private nursery school in Periyar Nagar in Kancheepuram had asked the parents to pay the yearly fees in one settlement. Speaking to DC, the parents said the school management forced them to pay whole yearly fees on one shot. They said they have been paying the fees on three instalments and suddenly the management is forcing us. Also, the school management is believed to have reportedly hiked fees all of a sudden. On Monday when the students came to the school, the teachers did not allow the students who did not pay the fee.
Following which at around 8 am on Monday, the parents blocked the Chengalpattu-Kancheepuram main road and demanded justice.
On being informed the Vishu Kanchi Police rushed to the spot a held talks with parents and school authorities. After the management allowed the students to attend the classes, parents withdrew the protest at around 10. 30 am.
