Royal welcome for kids to join govt schools in Namakkal
Parents sincerely welcomed the state government’s efforts to increase students’ enrolment in rural schools in particular.
Namakkal: Tiny tots got a princely treatment on day one of the new academic year as government schools opened on Monday; the mood was celebratory with the State permitting the Montessori -pattern ‘LKG’ and ‘UKG’ classes even in panchayat union schools in rural areas from this academic year.
With a mother’s touch, predominantly women teachers gave the young boys and girls a warm hug, draped them in shawls and distributed sweets specially prepared for the occasion with assistance from the local Parents-Teachers Association members at the Barathidasan Middle School in Rasipuram area in Namakkal district. This gesture was seen in other western districts as well today.
Teachers who will be handling the new ‘LKG’ and ‘UKG’ classes- nod for them is part of the School Education department’s bid to draw more students to government-run or state-assisted schools from the private stream-, were bubbling with energy as they affectionately welcomed the children, stunning everyone present in the school.
With such royal treatment, Kids who often cry going first day to school, dramatically cheered up and were at ease with the spirit of bonhomie that the teachers re-created on the occasion.
Parents sincerely welcomed the state government’s efforts to increase students’ enrolment in rural schools in particular. It is worth mentioning this school alone saw 15 children enrolling as students on a single day.
