Telangana unit helped BJP cross 300-mark, says BJP general secy Ram Madhav
Mr Madhav called up on BJP workers to fight against the TRS government like their colleagues are doing in West Bengal.
Nizamabad: BJP general secretary Ram Madhav on Monday said that the party had crossed the 300-mark in the Lok Sabha due to its victory from four constituencies in Telangana state.
Speaking at a meeting to felicitate MP Dharmapuri Arvind on his victory, Mr Madhav said the national leadership was confident of getting 299 MPs and had asked the Telangana state unit to work towards getting one or more MPs elected to reach the 300-mark. The party won four seats in the elections.
Mr Madhav said the BJP would emerge as a strong force in Telangana state and form government in 2023. If mid-term polls are held in Telangana state, the BJP will come to power sooner, he said. The BJP had begun its journey three decades ago with two MPs including one from the Telangana region, he recalled.
Mr Madhav said Mr Arvind would fulfil the election promises and the NDA government would resolve the problems of turmeric farmers. He said the BJP would govern India for three decades and beat the record of the Congress which was in power for two decades, he said.
The Congress was established by a foreigner 130 years ago and it would shut shop under the leadership of ‘foreigners’, he said.
TD president N. Chandrababu Naidu and TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had dreamed of playing a kingmaker’s role at the Centre, but the people rejected them, he said. There is no future for the Opposition parties as the people believe that the country will be safe under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, he said.
Mr Madhav called up on BJP workers to fight against the TRS government like their colleagues are doing in West Bengal.
BJP state president K. Laxman and Mr Arvind also spoke on the occasion. Former MLAs P. Babu Mohan, Y. Laxminarayana, party leaders L. Bhupathi Reddy, P. Hanmanth Reddy, party district president Palle Ganga Reddy, leaders and activists from Nizama-bad Lok Sabha constituency took part in the meet.
