Over 24,000 pilgrims pay obeisance at Amarnath shrine
On Sunday, over 15,000 pilgrims visited the cave shrine and till now around 23,787 pilgrims have paid their obeisance.
Jammu: Nearly 24,000 pilgrims have paid obeisance at the Amarnath cave shrine in South Kashmir during the first three days of the pilgrimage, while the fourth batch of 1,842 pilgrims today left for the yatra, officials said here.
"Till this morning, over 2,4000 pilgrims have performed darshan of holy 'ice lingum' of Lord Shiva at cave shrine of Amarnath since the beginning of yatra", an official of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) said.
On Sunday, over 15,000 pilgrims visited the cave shrine and till now around 23,787 pilgrims have paid their obeisance at the Ice Lingam, he said.
Amid tight security, the fourth batch on Monday left Bhagwati Nagar base camp at 4.40 am, the official said.
The convoy had already crossed Udhampur on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and would reach its destination at Baltal and Pahalgam base camps by this evening, he added.
