Chennai: PMK youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss on Monday demanded the cancellation of entertainment tax levied by local bodies on cinema theatres and asked the state government to compensate for the losses occurred by the local bodies.

The films do not attract crowds in working days and people visit cinema theatres only on weekends, he said. He also asked those in the film industry not to go for hike in ticket charges since cancellation of entertainment tax is the only solution.
