Seven new Deputy Commissioners for Chennai
As many as 41 police officers were transferred by the home department.
Chennai: T Nagar, Mylapore, Madhavaram, Ambattur, Kilpauk, Triplicane and St Thomas Mount districts in the city get new Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) in a major reshuffle in the police department announced on Monday. As many as 41 police officers were transferred by the home department.
T Nagar DCP, P Saravanan would be taking over as Mylapore DCP while DC (Traffic-south), P Aravindan would take his place as in T Nagar. Kilpauk DCP, Pravesh Kumar was transferred to the neighbouring Triplicane district as its DCP. Madhavaram DCP, S Rajendran would take over in Kilpauk, an official release said. Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP), S Sarvesh Raj and C Kalaichelvan were promoted as Superintendents and posted as Deputy Commissioners in Ambattur and Madhavaram respectively. Uniform Services Recruitment Board SP, M S Muthusamy has been appointed as the DCP, St Thomas Mount replacing PSC Kalyan who would take over as SP, Trichy.

Four other ASP’s serving as probationary officers- Arvind Menon, S Sakthi Ganesan, Suguna Singh and Dr N Sreenatha were also promoted as Superintendents of Police and given postings.
City also gets new Traffic DCPs in the East and West Zones- C Mageshwari and I Easwaran respectively.
