CM K Chandrasekhar Rao resurveys poll position
First survey agency had got Karnataka results wrong.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has always used the same agency to conduct frequent surveys to gauge the popularity of his party, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti. But since the survey agency got the results of the Karnataka Assembly elections wrong — it had said the Congress would emerge as the single largest party — Mr Rao has doubts about the accuracy of the agency’s surveys.
The most recent survey by this agency in TS said that the TRS is likely to win 100 Assembly seats in the coming elections. Mr Rao appointed another agency to carry out a fresh survey on the prospects of the TRS in the next elections According to sources, the new survey agency also concluded that the TRS is likely to win around 100 Assembly seats.
In the Parliamentary elections, out of 17 seats, the TRS is likely to win 15 seats, except Hyderabad and Secunderabad. In Secunderabad, the BJP will give the TRS a tough fight, according to the survey. TRS leaders have tallied the old survey agency’s report with the new agency’s report and found them to be alike. Mr Rao is likely to reveal the new survey report to the media soon.
