Hyderabad: Banks will be closed in two spells for four days and three days over weekends later this month. General secretary of Bank Employees’ Federation M.S. Kumar said that banks would remain closed from August 12 to 15.
“August 12 is Second Saturday followed by Sunday, Krishnastami is on August 14 and then there is Independence Day,” he said.
Similarly, banks would remain closed for three days from August 25. Vinayaka Chaturthi falls on August 25 followed by the Fourth Saturday on August 26, when banks are closed, and Sunday, he said.
He said the Andhra Pradesh government had not notified Krishnastami as a holiday, and banks in that state would function on August 14.
