Hyderabad: The traffic police will be closing the Oliphanta railway bridge and divert traffic via Alu-gaddabavi to facilitate construction of the Metro Rail at Chilkalguda crossroads.
Elsewhere, the traffic police ordered diversions at Maitrivanam junction for 45 days. The traffic diversion plan at Oliphanta bridge was discussed by senior traffic and Metro Rail officials on Thursday. Banners have been put up asking motorists to take the alternative route.
Joint traffic commissioner Dr V. Ravinder said it would two-three days to work out the arrangements. “There won’t be much of a problem to the commuters, we just have manage traffic properly,” Dr Ravinder said.
