Buntings: Crackdown on printing press

Bengaluru: Following the High Court order, the BBMP has cracked the whip against printing presses, which are printing buntings. So far they have levied a penalty of Rs 92,000.

The BBMP authorities have so far inspected 15 printing presses and ordered closure of 11 and recovered bunting materials weighing 8.5 tonnes.

A penalty of Rs 50,000 has been collected from East zone alone and Rs  35,000 from West zone. The authorities levied a penalty of Rs 7,000 against a printing press at Mahadevapura.
