Hyderabad: Hospitals may stop Aarogyasri services

A senior association representative said the hospitals wanted payments till June be released.

Hyderabad: Having got no response from the state government to their series of representations, the Telangana Superspeciality Hospitals Association has decided to stop Aarogyasri services from August 10.

The association executive committee which met on Saturday morning stated that a unanimous decision had been taken that all superspeciality hospitals empanelled with the government will stop Aarogyasri, Employee Health Scheme and other schemes as payments have not been released from December last year.

A senior association representative said the hospitals wanted payments till June be released. “There have been continuous meetings with department and Aarogyasri officials but no money has been released. We cannot continue with the scheme in the current situation,” he said. The government owes Rs 700 crore and the superspeciality hospitals are unable to bear the burden of the scheme, he said.

Telangana Aarogyasri Hospitals Association (TAHA) is contemplating a similar move, the government owes its members a total of Rs 1,500 crore.
