Bengaluru: Kannada film director Indrajit Lankesh, Gauri Lankesh’s brother, has issued a legal notice through his advocates, to film director A.M.R. Ramesh and Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce over the proposed feature film based on the killing of Gauri.
The notice states that Ramesh should refrain from making any film on the life and killing of Gauri. He has also served a notice to KFCC, which is the premiere body of Kannada films.
Known for his realistic films, Ramesh had reportedly said that he was planning to make a film about Gauri's killing. While the director has condemned the killing, he has reportedly said that he is gearing up for the film as there seems to be similarities between the killing of Gauri and rationalists M.M. Kalburgi and CPI leader Govind Panasare.
However the director had reportedly pointed out that unlike some who are making direct allegations, his proposed film will focus on the investigation part of the killing.
His other film Aaspota revolves around the assassination of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi.
