Hyderabad Metro Rail's reply sought on parking woes
The bench has directed the Metro officials and others to file an affidavit within a week reagrding the parking issue.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday issued notices to the principal secretary of municipal administration and managing director of Hyderabad Metro rail Ltd asking them to spell out the steps being taken to regulate the parking at the metro stations, commercial complexes, theatres and hotels of the city.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil .B. Radhakrishnan and Justice V. Ramasubramanian was dealing with the PIL taken up based on a letter by one Mr C.S. Adinarayana a resident of the city.
Mr Adinarayana had written a letter to the Chief Justice of the High Court stating that the situation in the parking areas at the Metro stations was pathetic and zigzag parking at both sides of the roads at the stations creating the trouble to the on goers and pedestrians.
He submitted that without there being sufficient parking space commercial complexes, hotels, theatres are built which was leading to parking of vehicles outside the commercial complexes creating hindrance to every one. He urged the Chief Justice to intervene in the matter and pass appropriate orders.
While issuing notices to the principal secretary of municipal administration, Home department of Telangana, Hyderabad city police commissioner, additional police commissioner of traffic, GHMC commissioner and managing director of Hyderabad Metro Rail, the bench directed them to file the affidavits within a week.
