Telangana government told to submit report on Jagtial bus accident

The state and also to declare illegal the state's inaction against the authorities responsible.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday directed authorities of Telangana government to submit a report on the ghastly bus accident at the Kondagattu Hill in Jagtial district explaining the steps taken to for the medical care to the victims immediately after the accident, the compensation paid to the families of the deceased and the injured and the reasons for the alleged failure of the authorities in preventing the accident.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice V. Ramasubramanian was dealing with a PIL filed by BJP leader and former MLA N. Indrasena Reddy challenging the ‘inaction’ of the authorities in not taking preventive measures to stop the bus accidents in the state and also to declare illegal the state’s inaction against the authorities responsible. 

Counsel for the petitioner, Y. Balaji, told the court  that after the accident, all the dead bodies were shifted to government hospital, Jagtial, and all the bodies were thrown in the veranda without taking any measures for non-decomposition.
