7 killed, 4 injured in road mishap in Uttarakhand

The incident took place by around 11 am when a Malappuram-bound KSRTC superfast bus from Thiruvananthapuram hit the police van from behind while trying to overtake another vehicle

Dehradun (Uttarakhand): At least seven people were killed and four others injured when the jeep they were travelling in plunged into a deep gorge near Laachhi bridge in Pauri District on Thursday.

The accident took place when the ill fated jeep was on its way from Bajaro to Laachhi.

A team of revenue police, with the help of local residents, carried out the rescue operations. The injured were taken to the nearby hospital.

All deceased are said to be locals of Beeronkhal block of Thalisain tehsil.
