Malappuram: Muslim Youth league wants Jaleel ousted
Firoz said that Jaleel should resign in the wake of the confessional post or Chief minister oust him.
Malappuram: The Muslim Youth League (MYL), the youth wing of IUML has intensified protest against higher education and minority affairs minister Dr. K.T. Jaleel seeking his removal from the cabinet for flouting rules in an appointment under his department. The MYL had on Friday alleged that Jaleel appointed his cousin K.T Adeeb as general manager of the Kerala State Minority Development Finance Corporation (KSMDFC) violating norms. Though Jaleel come up with a clarification on Adeeb’s appointment through a Facebook post, the MYL on Saturday pointed out that minister’s explanation was a confession. “Youth League has decided to approach governor asking permission to prosecute the minister under section 17 A of Prevention of Corruption Act,” said MYL state general secretary P.K Firoz. “It is clear from Jaleel’s FB post that Adeeb was extended a personal invitation for the post due to absence of qualified candidates. He further said the qualification for the post was MBA in finance. But Adeeb has only BTech and PG diploma in banking,” Firoz said.
Firoz said that Jaleel should resign in the wake of the confessional post or Chief minister oust him. He said Youth League will begin protest demanding this in the coming days with the support of UDF.
