BENGALURU: Health problems drove a 21-year-old newlywed woman to suicide in the Kamakshipalya police limits on Friday night. The deceased, Kavya, got married to Sampath, a vegetable vendor, some six months ago, and was living with him in Chintamani in Kolar.

Kavya came to her mother’s house near Mahadeshwara Temple in Kamakshipalya three days ago. When her mother woke up on Saturday morning, she found Kavya hanging.

“It is suspected that Kavya took the extreme step on Friday midnight while other family members were asleep. She has not left any suicide note. Her family members have no complaint against her husband, but said that she had health problems and was upset over it,” the police said. An unnatural death case is registered with the Kamakshipalya police.
