Cyclonic storm Jawad to weaken gradually

Storm is likely to weaken gradually and move nearly northwards during next 12 hours and then north-north-eastwards along Odisha coast

Visakhapatnam:  The cyclonic storm Jawad over West Central Bay of Bengal moved slightly northwards with a speed of 4 kmph during past 6 hours and lay centred  over West Central Bay of Bengal about 230 km southeast of Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), 340 km south of Gopalpur (Odisha), 410 km south-southwest of Puri (Odisha) and 490 km south-southwest of Paradip (Odisha).

It is likely to weaken gradually and move nearly northwards during next 12 hours and then north-north-eastwards along Odisha coast reaching near Puri around December 5 noon as a deep depression.  

Subsequently, it is likely to weaken further and continue to move north-north eastwards along the Odisha coast towards the West Bengal coast, an IMD report said.
