Daily Covid-19 case count breach 200 in Telangana

Hyderabad: The daily Covid-19 case count in Telangana state again crossed the 200-mark on Saturday, with the health department reporting that the state recorded 213 new cases for the day. It also said one more Covid-19 patient also died on Saturday.

It was on October 23 that the state reported more than 200 cases with the department then saying 207 new Covid-19 cases were found in the state on that day.

The daily cases in the state have been witnessing a slow upward trend over the past few days, something that director of health and family welfare Dr G. Srinivasa Rao had also acknowledged at a recent press conference.

On Saturday, the department said 3,779 people were listed as active cases, and of these, 1,304 were in various private and government hospitals, with nearly a third of them, 465, in intensive care units.

While the GHMC area reported 72 new cases, Ranga Reddy district reported 21 cases, followed by Sangareddy with 20, and Suryapet with 10. While 14 districts, including Hyderabad that comes under the GHMC area, reported an increase in cases,  7 districts reported fewer cases than on Friday.

Meanwhile, officials said that 10 cases were found in a single apartment complex in Bandlaguda area of the city.
